Description
The actual title is "Mná na hÉireann" but apparently the title box doesn't accept accents.
This is the picture that I made for Kerry's 18th. It's based off a wee bit of Irish folklore that involved a musician quelling a horrible trio of beautoful half-demons-turned-foxes (or wolves depending on who you ask). Then along comes the local warrior and he shish-ka-bobs them. But the musician is the one to takes the glory!
FOR ONCE!
I actually don't know if Kerry reads fantasy novels or is even remotely interested in myths or any such thing, but she strikes me as someone who would inspire a folk legend. I don't know what it is about her.
At any rate, I love this piece of art, even though the scan is pretty miserable as per the usual.
Faber Castel water colour pencils, and gold pyrite.
[edit]--the pyrite is in my pathetic rendering of a full moon (the paint smeared) and happens to be from a beautiful canyon oasis in the outskirts of Tucson, Arizona.
